I LOVE TO MAKE MY OWN RECORDS! Swarmandel recording Rene Dissel in the zone — playing a mean fretless bass on Lotus Dance Nahim Avci on the Cura, a small turkish guitar, sounding a bit like the Brazilain cavaquinho — recording on the song ARABESQUE — with Nahim Avci Nahim Avci, amazing musician from Turkey, playing the Derili Saz, a turkish guitar with a skin so beautiful, his turkish stringed instruments collection — here recording the Yayli Tanbur (turkish cello) on CRY FOR THE SUN — with Nahim Avci @ WMDC Rotterdam — pretty much reverb in the room, no matter how many persian carpets we spread out with Nahim and the Yayli Tanbur Tabla wizard Heiko Dijker (left) was helping me and connected me to Nahim Avci only a part of Afras big drum collection Afra recording Dumbek on READY TO DARE — love that sound! which frame drum to choose?? in the zone — almost all songs have a Frame Drum, mostly played by percussion wizard Afra Mussawisade I love that rattling sound of the Bendir — people often think their speakers are broken! Afra laying down a groove on Lotus Dance.
